About Trip Out banner

Trip Out's artistic director, tour guide and host is Sierra Lonepine Briano. Sierra has been teaching art and conducting art workshops for the past 18 years. Since earning a BFA at Marylhurst University, she has shown her work throughout Oregon, Washington and California. She was one of the founding mothers of Dyke Art Camp in Oregon. Sierra has shown her work throughout the Western States and Canada, and her work has been included in a number of publications, including the cover art for "Hey Paisan" and anthology of Italian American Gay and Lesbian writers.

After a visit to Yelapa in 2004, and feeling that other women would want to share in the creativity inducing, laid back tropical venue that is Yelapa, Women's Art Week was born.

Since art making is at its best in an environment that is void of the mundane hassles of everyday life, Women's Art Week in Yelapa was developed with this in mind. Women are free to spend their time expressing themselves in a creative manner, rather than worrying about doing the dishes!

In addition to Women's Art Weeks in Yelapa, Trip Out will soon have an expanded itinerary that will include art and culture trips for women to places such as Oaxaca, Mexico; Hornby Island, British Columbia; and the Yucatan.
